Event Recap: Montreux Jazz Festival Returned to Coconut Grove

March 9, 2026

Earlier this month, Coconut Grove welcomed the return of the Montreux Jazz Festival Miami for its third year, transforming the waterfront at The Hangar into an intimate stage for world-class jazz music. Across three evenings, internationally recognized artists, spontaneous collaborations, and an atmosphere of creative energy brought one of the world’s most respected music festivals back to the heart of Miami.

Founded in Switzerland in 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has long been synonymous with musical innovation. Its Miami edition captured that same spirit in a more personal setting, where audiences experienced performances up close, and musicians often shared the stage for unexpected collaborations. Across the weekend, the program moved fluidly between genres: New Orleans–inspired brass, funk-driven sets, and Latin rhythms filled the open-air venue, while impromptu jam sessions carried the improvisational spirit of jazz well into the evening. The festival’s format encouraged discovery, inviting guests to experience both celebrated performers and emerging voices within the same intimate setting.

For Coconut Grove, the festival felt perfectly at home. The neighborhood has balanced artistic expression with coastal calm for decades, with its tree-lined streets, waterfront parks, and independent cultural spaces. When a global music event arrives here, it feels less like an import and more like a continuation of the Grove’s deeply rooted creative soul.

A short drive away, Grove Isle offers a quiet vantage point. The private island sits minutes from Coconut Grove, providing a tranquil residential retreat while remaining closely connected to the neighborhood’s vibrant, waterfront life.

At Vita at Grove Isle, that relationship between serenity and proximity shapes everyday living. The boutique building features just 65 residences designed to capture panoramic views of Biscayne Bay, with expansive terraces that extend living spaces toward the water's edge. From this perspective, residents can experience Miami from a more peaceful vantage point, while still just moments away from the cultural energy of Coconut Grove. It's the best of both worlds.
